A passenger was “offloaded” from a SpiceJet flight on Monday because of his misbehavior with a female cabin crew member, the airline said in a statement.
In the video accessed by ANI, the flight crew and passengers are seen engaging in a verbal fight after a male passenger misbehaves with a female crew member.
“On January 23, 2023, the SpiceJet wet-leased Corondon flight was scheduled to operate SG-8133 (Delhi – Hyderabad). While boarding at Delhi, a passenger harassed and disturbed the cabin crew. The crew informed the PIC and security personnel. The said passenger and a fellow passenger, who were traveling together, were offloaded and handed over to the security team,” the airline said in a statement.
The crew complained that the passenger inappropriately touched one of the crew members. On the other hand, fellow passengers claimed that it was an accident due to the limited space on the flight.
The passenger later issued a written apology, but was offloaded to avoid any further confrontation.
Earlier this month on January 9, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued. A show-cause notice to Air India’s accountability manager following two incidents of passenger misbehavior on the airline’s flight AI-142 on December 6. came to the attention of the regulator last year.
The show-cause notice states why “action should not be taken against them for neglecting their regulatory obligations”.
A passenger was caught smoking in the toilet, drunk and not listening to the crew.
A fellow female passenger allegedly relieved herself on an empty seat and blanket while another passenger went to the toilet.
In another similar incident, a brawl broke out between two intoxicated passengers. On a Patna-bound Indigo Airlines flight on January 9.
The airlines denied any reported incident of two drunken passengers causing havocs. On a Patna-bound flight from the national capital and said there was no such brawl.
“Regarding the incident that took place on 6E 6383 from Delhi to Patna, the matter is under investigation by the authorities. We would like to clarify that there was no altercation in the aircraft. As is being reported in some sections of the social media,” IndiGo Airlines said in a tweet.
The airlines issued the clarification hours after it was reported to the media that airport police. Had arrested two passengers on Sunday night for causing a disturbance while intoxicated.
Patna Airport SHO Robert Peter said the police took action after the manager of IndiGo lodged a written complaint against the accused.
