Footage from the home’s surveillance camera shows the boulder, about 5 feet in size. Smash through a wall with a deafening “boom” and enter the home. The boulder then rolled down a hallway, just inches in front of a woman standing inside.
It crashed further down the house, breaking through the walls in its path of destruction.
Honolulu’s TTN affiliate KHNL reported to hit Palolo Valley Sunday night.
The Sasaki family told the station they moved into the home earlier this month. And are looking for answers about what caused the Boulder’s crash.
The family said insurance adjusters have yet to come to the home to assess the damage. And as of Monday, the rock remained at their house.
It’s not clear what caused the boulder to roll down a hill behind the house. But the incident came to light a few days after heavy rains.
