Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son. Anant Ambani today got engaged to Radhika Vanik in a traditional ceremony at the family’s Mumbai home in Antilia.
Radhika is the daughter of merchant industrialist Biren Merchant. The families announced in 2019 that Anant and Radhika would marry.
“Ancient traditions like Gol Dhana and Chunari Vidhan – followed for generations among. Gujarati Hindu families – were carried out with great fervor in the family temple,” the Ambanis said in a statement.
Gol Dhana, meaning jaggery and coriander seeds, is a pre-wedding ceremony among Gujaratis. These items are delivered to the groom’s place where the ceremony takes place. The bride’s family comes to the groom’s house with gifts and sweets and then the couple exchange rings.
The evening’s festivities began with members of the Ambani family. Led by Anant’s sister Isha Ambani visiting the merchant home to invite them and Radhika to the function.
Anant’s mother Nita Ambani gave a stunning performance during the engagement ceremony.
In June, Mukesh Ambani and his wife hosted Radhika Vanik’s Arangetram event at the Jio World Center in Mumbai. An orangutram marks the end of a dancer’s training in Bharatanatyam classical dance and the stage performance debut.
Anant Ambani, the youngest of the Reliance chairman’s three children. Will lead the company’s new energy business. Reliance is looking to be at the forefront of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s green energy capacity building ambitions.
