Washington: The highly anticipated H-1B visa filing season. For fiscal year 2023-24 will officially begin on March 1 when the US immigration agency will. Start accepting applications for skilled foreign worker visas. Which are most sought after by Indian IT professionals.

The H-1B visa is a nonimmigrant visa that allows U.S. companies to hire foreign worker. In specialized occupations  visa  that require theoretical or technical skills.

Tech companies rely on it to hire hundreds of thousands. Of workers every year from countries like India and China.

US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said that for the fiscal year. Beginning October 1, 2023, it will accept applications from March 1 to March 17. For H-1B visas that allow them to visa work and live in the United States for up to six months. years in specialized fields such as technology, engineering and medicine.

“If we receive visa enough registrations by March 17, we will randomly select registrations. And send selection notifications through users’ myUSCIS online accounts. If we do not receive enough visa registrations. All registrations correctly submitted during the initial registration period will be selected.” USCIS said.

“We intend to notify account holders by March 31,” a media release said. USCIS said it will release additional information in the coming weeks.

The remaining 65,000 visas are awarded through a lottery system. Intensifying competition for H-1B visas.
