Russian leader Vladimir Putin unilaterally ordered his forces to stop attacks on Orthodox Christmas, killing two Ukrainians and wounding nine others

Putin ordered a 36-hour ceasefire for Orthodox Christians to mark Christmas. “After midnight the enemy launched seven rocket attacks on Kramatorsk. And two rocket attacks on Kostiantynivka.” Said Pavlo Kirilenko, head of the Donetsk regional administration.
Russia’s Defense Ministry insisted on Saturday. That it had stopped fighting. But had repelled several Ukrainian attacks and killed dozens of Ukrainian soldiers.
Ukraine dismissed the pause as a ploy by Russia to regroup. Its forces and bolster its defenses after a series of battlefield setbacks.
The head of the Luhansk regional administration, Sergei Gaide. Said the Russians were redeploying forces from. the current center of the fighting in Bakhmut to the city of Kremina.
“We expect an intensity of hostilities,” he added, pointing to the freezing temperatures.
“Our heavy equipment will finally be able to move faster.”
