Indiana Rep. Jim Banks announces bid for Braun’s Senate seat


Rip. Jim Banks, R-Ind., announced his campaign Tuesday for the Senate seat held by GOP Sen. Mike Brown. Who decided against seeking re-election in 2024. And will instead run for Indiana governor.

Banks, a staunch ally of former President Trump, is the first candidate in the Senate race.

“Radical, socialist Democrats are trying to change America. But I won’t let them,” Banks said in a video announcing his campaign. “I’ve been on the front lines of the fight for America First policies in Congress.” Including increased border security, trade sanctions on China and opposition to abortion.
