Darbhanga: BJP workers across Bihar have been told clearly that there is no question of. Areshuffle with “unpopular” chief minister Nitish Kumar. The party’s state unit chief Sanjay Jaiswal said on Sunday.

He made these remarks at the end of the party’s two-day state executive meeting in North Bihar’s Darbhanga district.

“We have tried to prevent rumors about such a reshuffle among our party cadres. Of course, the chief minister has a tendency to swing like a pendulum. Bihar lost power when Kumar and the JD(U) pulled out of the alliance. With the saffron party and formed a new party with the RJD and the Congress.

“Nitish Kumar has become massively unpopular. It was his unpopularity that made his JD(U) perform poorly in the 2020 Assembly elections, while we did better”, Mr Jaiswal said.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed magnanimity (benevolence). By deciding to stick to his pre-election promises and Kumar enjoyed one more term. But, habitual traitor that he is, Kumar abused the trust reposed in him by the Prime Minister”, alleged the Bihar BJP chief.

Mr Kumar took a swipe at the BJP, accusing him of trying to split the JD(U) with the help of his former close aide RCP Singh.

The party also accused the BJP of trying to sabotage the assembly elections. When Cherag Paswan’s Lok Jan Shakti Party fielded many saffron party rebels against JD(U) candidates.

Mr. Jaiswal reiterated that the BJP is now aiming to form its own government in Bihar We have set ourselves a target of 35 out of 40 seats in the state.

Mr. Jaiswal also said, tongue in cheek, “Today is the birth anniversary of George Fernandes who was a mentor of Nitish. When Nitish was not shy about betraying him, he could have acquitted someone else”.
