Sarasota, Fla. — A U.S. congressman from Florida. Who was injured in a tree-cutting accident in Sarasota said Saturday. That he has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
Rep. Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., said in an evening tweet. That he was “blessed by the prayers and support of our friends, family and community.”
He added that his office “will provide updates in the coming weeks. On how my recovery will affect my return to Washington.”
A tweet posted on the congressman’s official profile Thursday. Said Steube “fell approximately 25 feet down a ladder. While cutting tree limbs on his Sarasota property” earlier in the day.
A separate tweet then said he spent the night in ICU. After sustaining several injuries. That were serious but not life-threatening. A man saw the fall and called 911, the account said.
Steube thanked the staff at Sarasota. Memorial Hospital for their “outstanding care” on Saturday.
Steube was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2018. And began his third term. He represents Sarasota and Charlotte counties and parts of Lee County.
