A 14-year-old girl fatally shot an 11-year-old boy in a Dallas apartment complex parking lot. After he retrieved a gun during an argument with another child, police said.
Police said the 14-year-old shot at the girl she was fighting with. But the bullet hit an 11-year-old bystander Sunday afternoon.
Police Sergeant Warren Mitchell said.
The 11-year-old was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Police said the 14-year-old fled the scene of the shooting. And was later taken into custody at a nearby apartment complex.
The proposed 14-year-old is being held in a juvenile justice facility. And is expected to be charged with murder, they said.
The weapon has been recovered, police said, who are continuing the investigation.
