A Pennsylvania woman has been charged with shooting her parents in the head. And dismembering their bodies with a chain saw, authorities said Wednesday.
Verity Beck, 49, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Two counts of third-degree murder and other offenses in the slayings of Reid Beck, 73. And Miriam Beck, 72, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele told reporters.
Beck appeared in court Wednesday for this couple a preliminary argument. And was ordered held without bail. Criminal court records show. Authorities have not identified a possible motive.
Inside, officers found Verity Beck, who also lived there. And the bodies of the victims, according to the statement.
“There were now signs of extreme trauma,” he said. An autopsy found Becks had been shot once in each head, Steele said. Suggesting a pillow may have been used during the gunfight. He said the couple appeared to have been shot before being dismembered.
“We hope and pray that it’s the first,” he said.
It was not clear whether Beck had a lawyer to speak on his behalf. One was not listed in court records.
